The Foundry Grill | Sundance, Utah – Heartbeat Nosh

One of the best things about living in this beautiful state, in my opinion, is taking a long drive in any direction. This past weekend was our anniversary and we decided to drive to Sundance Resort to enjoy the beautiful scenery and a meal in the mountains. We thought that instead of doing a fancy dinner, we would take Clementine and check out Sunday brunch at The Foundry Grill.

Sundance Utah
The Foundry Grill’s concept is based on simplicity and getting back to the basics. It’s Sunday brunch is no exception and we were delighted by every item we tried. We didn’t realize that Sunday brunch was a buffet. Since buffets can really be hit or miss, we were a little let down when we were told that there wasn’t a menu and that the brunch buffet was the only option. We were completely surprised that the buffet was actually outstanding, beautiful, and fresh. In fact, even after a few trips for different brunch choices, we didn’t leave feeling overly stuffed or full. This was definitely a testament to the quality of food, from the wonderful fresh fruit to the carvery station.

The Foundry Grill
The Foundry Grill’s brunch buffet offers everything from poached eggs over potatoes with light hollandaise (my favorite item – the poached eggs were like velvet) to a carvery station with succulent turkey and prime rib, to staples such as french toast and pancakes. They also boast an impressive cheese and fruit table as well as a center round table full of desserts ranging from hot blueberry bread pudding to mini key lime tarts. There is absolutely something for everyone. Even their simple items such as cherry tomatoes with broccolini had amazing flavor. It also needs to be stated that our service was outstanding. We never once waited for a clean plate, napkin, or flatware. Also, the Foundry Grill makes a mean Bloody Mary.

The Foundry Grill Sunday Brunch
The Foundry’s Sunday brunch will run you $29.95 for an adult – and I have to say, it is well worth the price. Sitting in the beautiful scenery of Sundance, under epic mountains and spring sunshine, made it all the better. Everyone should take a drive and enjoy this beautiful place in our own back yard. After your delicious brunch, you can get snacks or dessert in the General Store, shop for nick-knacks and other items in the Sundance shop, take a tram ride and enjoy the fresh air, or savor a cocktail at the Owl Bar next door. You can spend the entire afternoon in one of the most beautiful places Utah has to offer. It was absolutely a perfect way to spend our first wedding anniversary! Thank you Sundance and The Foundry Grill! I couldn’t have pictured a better day with my little family.
