i hate the inversion. more than anything else, when it comes to winter in salt lake city, the inversion tops my list. everything is grey and disgusting…there is no color whatsoever and you can’t see the city, let alone the mountains, from the valley. yuck. usually we have it later in the season–late january or early feburary. however, since we have had virtually no snow, it has set it right before christmas.
but other than the gross air we are breathing daily, things are pretty okay. i am just about done with everything for christmas and looking forward to a week off of work and some down time. my “new” job has proven to be great at celebrating the holidays. We get the week after Christmas off as well as the Monday after new years and we had a great holiday party which included delicious food and wine and a great “white elephant”–but with fabulous presents. i ended up getting a premium beer from a local brewery with some great little beer glasses. score central!
i had a long 4 day weekend this past week as well, which was awesome because i spent a lot of time reading (the girl with the dragon tattoo–which i am LOVING) and hanging with the dogs and russ. we took a lovely trip up to park city to hang with russ’s cousin and her husband who were vising from chicago and ate at high west distillery, one of our favorites. we had a great time.
i am looking forward to spending christmas with my man and my family….but am desperatly missing my sister and hate that she can’t be here. always seems a little less magical without her. 😦
happy holidays to you all.
