Every once in a while I will get all obsessed with an artist and google/search them for days and days. Admittedly, I come across many of these on Pinterest. There is a lot of great art circulating out there on creative boards, if you can believe it. This week, I came across this:
These oil, photo-real paintings by Alyssa Monks are quite frankly, blowing my little mind. I am not a painter, or a photographer, but if I was – this is the kind of stuff I would hope to do. They blur the lines of reality, fantasy, imagery, and texture. You could nearly touch these and come away with wet hands. She has a whole series of water/bathtub paintings that I just get lost in. They are violent and serene all at once – kind of like death. Anything that can touch the complexity of that is amazing, in my book. Check her out more here >>.
