Here is my article from the Nightlife section of IN Magazine for May.
Club Jam – 751 North 300 West
Club Jam has been voted the best gay bar in Salt Lake City five years running and Pride weekend is their busiest time of the year. For Pride 2013, Jam will be hosting the Pride Idol Karaoke Contest on Wednesday night. On Thursday night, enjoy the Pride Mixer with ‘thegayhotspot.com’ and hip-hop music by Beets by Veets. On Friday, Jam will get you moving with their Bear Bust Pride Party with DJ Harry Cross and the Andre Christian Underwear Models! The party keeps hopping on Saturday with Jam’s Pre-Pride Party, and Sunday Jam will open early at noon!
Because this is Jam’s biggest and best party of the year, they will be fencing off their parking lot for outdoor fun which will include a stage, beer & liquor garden, and a variety of entertainment. If you are lucky, you might even run into some girls from RuPaul’s Drag Race!
The Paper Moon – 3737 South State Street
Join The Paper Moon for some of the best Pride parties around. On Friday, The Paper Moon will be putting on their famous annual White Party! The Paper Moon will transform into a black light palace, so be sure to dress in your favorite white garb and get ready to dace while guest DJs spin the night away. Saturday night, they change things up with their Rainbow Bash – The Paper Moon will metamorphose into a rainbow-filled lounge and guests are encouraged to be as colorful as possible! On Sunday night, gear up for their yearly Pride Party with guest DJs, pride-themed games, and their annual taco-eating contest.
Make sure to watch The Paper Moon’s facebook page and website for ticket sales and prices, coming the first of May.
