Aristo’s – We ended up in heaven!

This weekend we were driving around looking for somewhere to grab a quick appetizer and cocktail. Thanks to the best luck ever, a parking spot right in front of Aristo’s on 1300 East opened up. We snatched it. Now I am asking myself:

WHY ON EARTH DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO EAT AT ARISTO’S?

With just the small amount of food we ordered, it was easy to see that Aristo’s knows exactly what they are doing. Their Avgolemono is hands down the best Avgolemono I have had, if not one of the best soups I have ever had. The lemon is extremely pungent, which I absolutely love. It is creamy and velvety and served with the best crusty bread. I have been dreaming about it ever since.

We also ordered the Spanakopita (spinach, feta, and dill wrapped in phyllo dough, $6.95) and the Hummus (chickpeas, tahini, garlic, and lemon juice served with amazing pita bread ($6.95). The spanakopita was outstanding. Perfectly cooked, the filling inside was warm and rich and the phyllo dough was nice and crispy on the outside. The plate was served with cucumbers, olive oil, kalamata olives, and squares of wonderful fresh feta. It was dreamy dish. The hummus was also lovely. It had a nice kick of flavor to it with the lemon, but the pita that is served with the hummus is incredible. Warm, fresh, crispy on the edges and soft and gooey on the inside – it was perfect.

The Malbec and blood orange cocktail were also great!

We can’t wait to get back for a full meal!
