Cocktail Club | The Water Lily
Cocktail Club kicked-off its first ever gathering this weekend with huge success! It is very apparent that this was a GREAT idea. Our first featured cocktail was beautiful and our hostess was amazingly prepared. I am so excited to share it all with you! Try this wonderful cocktail at home and share with your friends!
July Cocktail Club Hostess: SHEENA
Sheena has been a great friend of mine for about ten years (wow). We met at Todd’s bar back in the day when she started dating my friend Cody (who she is now married to). And thus, we have been hanging around ever since. She is one classy gal who wears red lipstick better than anyone I know. She is brilliant and hysterical and has the cutest little one year old boy this side of the SLC. She did an amazing job hosting our first cocktail club and, of course, picked a lovely beverage for a bunch of lovely ladies. Thanks for hosting, Sheena!
July Featured Cocktail: The Water Lily
Shopping List:
Triple Sec
Creme de Violette
Fresh Lemons
Gin
Edible Flowers for Garnish
Recipe: Makes 1 Drink
3/4 oz. Triple Sec
3/4 oz. Creme de Violette
3/4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
3/4 oz. Gin
(this recipe could also be done just using equal parts of each ingredient)
Instructions:
Combine Triple Sec, Creme de Violette, Lemon Juice, and Gin into a cocktail shaker (preferably a metal one) filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a coupe (or a lovely martini glass). Garnish with EDIBLE FLOWERS!

The Water Lily was a delicious and beautiful cocktail. The Creme de Violette certainly took center stage in this drink. The Water Lily is strong, but not overpowering – the violette liquor and fresh lemon juice really keep the flavors in balance. Also, for as pretty of a drink as it is, it is not at all on the sweet side; although, it is very easy to drink. The edible flowers make for a gorgeous presentation, even though this cocktail is fairly simple to create. What a great way to start Cocktail Club!
