Like so many things…

Traveling to Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver to see The National was one of the better musical experiences of my life. The atmosphere was incredible – Colorado is amazingly lucky to have a venue so out of this world, so perfect to house music, so memorable. And, it was wonderful to experience all of it with my favorite person in the world.

So, as I am sure you can guess, my obsession for The National is in full force and more ridiculous than ever. This last album, Trouble Will Find Me, gets better with each listen. Every song sings something new – EVERY. TIME. It makes my skin chill in the best way. With life a bit chaotic at the moment – moving, unpacking, projects, crazy, sleeplessness – I am finding a great deal of solace in these magically simple and moving tunes. And believe me, simple doesn’t not mean lacking in complexity. You are thinking, “Well, Chels, actually that is EXACTLY what simple means.” But not in this case. Simple words, full of complexity. Full of things I have felt my whole life, and in the quickest of moments.

Here is the one I have on a loop today. Sits in my chest. Like so many things.
