Rico Catering – Warehouse | Event Space in Salt Lake City

If you are a Salt Lake City local, chances are you have dined on, or at least heard of, the awesome food created by Rico Brand – and hopefully, you have ventured to Frida Bistro (the amazingly wonderful restaurant located in front of their warehouse) for an amazing meal as well. If you haven’t, now is the time to hang your head in shame. 😉

If you love Rico food, then you really need to know about their amazing Warehouse event space. Salt Lake City is only made more wonderful by housing this great space – and I have to say, I can’t think of any type of event it wouldn’t be great for (you know, as long as you are looking for something really awesome and different).

A little back story: when Russ and I got engaged we were really weary of having an actual large wedding or reception. The idea of planning something big seemed totally completely overwhelming and out of our budget. We had made our minds up that we would go the “open house” route and do something small at a local restaurant. I reached out to my friends at Circle Dine to see if they had any suggestions about space that might accommodate the kind of mellow and low-cost vibe we were looking for. Annie, at Circle Dine, set up a site tour of the Rico Warehouse, which I didn’t even really know existed. Sure, I figured that Rico HAD a warehouse for production and what not, but I had no idea that their space was as vibrant, fun, and unique as it is.

After seeing the Rico Warehouse, we completely changed our wedding plans. And that is not exaggeration.

The space was exactly what we were looking for – even if we didn’t realize it until we SAW the space. We didn’t want to hold our “party” in a reception center; we wanted something different. Something memorable. The Rico Warehouse offered us just that. Vibrancy, openness, great sound for live music, and of course, all of the other items that an event space should provide such as tables, chairs, staff, linens, catering, etc. We wouldn’t have to rent anything or hire anyone else. It was a one stop shop for our party needs. They were also very reasonably priced, and being a lover of Rico’s food, I knew our guests would eat well (which, of course, was important to me)!

We were also able to do a lot of decorating on our own, and the warehouse was amazing as a blank slate where we could think of any kind of party we wanted. Our theme was vintage – and it actually worked perfect in the warehouse – accented with bright colors and a million twinkle lights. The vibe both created by Rico, and by the decorations that we provided, ended up being the most perfect atmosphere I could have imagined.

If you have party needs – weddings, business gatherings, dinners, events, bands, etc – consider The Rico Warehouse for your venue. Mary, the Catering Director and Josh, the Marketing and Communication Director, are absolutely outstanding to work with and will make sure your vision becomes a reality. I could not have been happier about our wedding party. It was exactly what we wanted and I thank them for working so hard for us. They are great friends. When we think back on our wedding celebration, for the rest of our lives, we will remember how wonderful, fun, exciting, perfectly put together, and delicious it was. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
