Eva’s Bakery and Boulangerie, Open for Dinner | Salt Lake City

I had the pleasure of attending a blogger dinner at Eva’s Bakery last week and I am happy to share some good news! Eva’s Bakery is now serving dinner. That’s right – this beautiful boulangerie, which dishes out tasty fresh-made bread, pastries, coffee, and breakfast/lunch daily, is now open Tuesday – Saturday evenings for dinner! Hooray!

If you haven’t been to Eva’s Bakery, you should know that it is one of my favorite spots in Salt Lake. It truly reminds me of being in a corner boulangerie on the streets of Paris. It is quaint and every European, with simple and beautiful decor that makes you feel right at home. Eva’s Bakery not only looks the part, this wonderful bakery serves up incredible baked goods, (I am particular to the fresh sourdough bread, myself) as well as a fantastic breakfast and lunch.

Eva's Bakery Wine Menu

Eva’s Dinner menu fits right in with what is already working so well. The menu items change seasonally – and right now, the fall menu is the perfect epitome of comfort food. I suggest you start with the Roasted Duck Chowder ($7) to warm you up. This creamy, but surprisingly light soup, was the perfect starter. Make sure you get some of that fresh sourdough for dipping! Eva’s also currently offers a light Organic Green Salad ($7) with fresh pickled plums (YUM!), local cheddar, and red wine vinaigrette.

Currently, Eva’s has two main courses to choose from. I ordered the Braised Local Pork Roast with potato gnocchi (because, gnocchi), semifreddo, & and natural jus ($15). This dish was so wonderful – hearty, warm, full of flavor. I would say this definitely leans to more of a gnocchi dish, rather than a pork dish – which was surprising. The pillowy gnocchi took center stage and the pork was more of a side note – it presented a bit differently than expected, but it was lovely. However, when I got a taste of the other main course, Mary’s Organic Pecan-Crusted Chicken Breast ($16), I was in heaven. I never order “the chicken.” Chicken can be so boring. But, let me tell you – this wasn’t NOT boring chicken. Served over local vegetables, currant-tomato chutney, and dijon cream sauce, this chicken was to die for. It was just a little bit of sweet with a whole lot of flavor. Wonderful!

Also, for you vegetarians and vegan friends out there – don’t worry! Eva’s Bakery is prepared to whip you up something magical for dinner as well. Just let them know your preferences and they will take great care of you.

For dessert, the Lemon Chiffon Cake ($5) was a crowd pleaser, showcasing a tangy and fluffy lemon zing, while the Molten Chocolate Cake ($5) was enjoyed by anyone who loves a dense, velvety chocolate rush.
