Zest Kitchen and Bar | Salt Lake City

One of my favorite downtown restaurants, Zest Kitchen and Bar, has a new, seasonal fall menu! I was able to get out for a very rare and coveted GIRLS NIGHT (hooray!) and Zest was the perfect spot. If you haven’t been to Zest yet, might I ask….why? This place offers an adults-only, hip atmosphere – with an amazing menu of healthy, vegetarian, vegan, and raw food. And if you are a meat eater and that “scares” you – please, don’t let it stop you. Zest’s food is hearty and filling, not to mention, delicious.

A few items off the Fall menu that can’t be missed:

The Baked Ziti (OMG): baked ziti penne pasta, cashew ricotta, squash, pumpkin marinara & heirloom tomatoes & daiya or organic cheddar ($10). This is the perfect fall dish with the addition of the pumpkin marinara. So delicious and perfect for a cold day. This pasta is hearty, will fill you up, and comfort you – all at the same time!

Cheesy Brazilian Bread Bites: These little tasty bites are perfectly cooked and stuffed with local cheese. An amazing appetizer, especially if you order the soup for dipping! ($8)

Coconut Curry with Forbidden Rice: This dish is super fresh, enticing your need for veggies and also filling your belly with the black rice. I love black rice – it does such a good job of soaking up flavors with its great texture. ($12)

Zest's Curry
Zest’s Farm to Glass Cocktail – peaches, sage, High West silver, and cassis: Get it while you can!

And you can’t forget dessert! The Salted Caramel Chocolate Hazelnut Torte was pretty much epic – sweet and savory! Great way to finish the meal! ($7)

Some other items we ordered were the Grilled Cheese and Soup ($14), the Mannicotti ($12), and the Brussels Sprouts ($8) – all offering up great fresh flavors at a great price. Between the four of us, we left very full and very happy!

Make sure to get to Zest Restaurant & Bar to try the new fall menu for yourself!
