Sip and Savor Soireé Recap | Salt Lake City
One of my favorite things in life is a good pairing of wine/cocktails/beer/spirits with delicious food. And, that is just what Bambara and Sugar House Distillery offered up on the first Sip and Savor Soireé last week! Bambara’s Executive Chef, Nathan Powers, created plates specifically to bring out the notes and flavors of Sugar House Distillery’s Vodka, Gold Rum, Whisky, and Silver Rum. Some bites paired with cocktails and others with the spirit, straight up. Either way, both the food and the beverages were elevated by the other. Sugar House Vodka, Straight Up and Frozen
Caviar Blini
Pairing Two:
Sugar House Distillery Silver Rum, Pineapple-Mint Mojito
Scallop with pea sprouts, pesto, and French Butter (my favorite bite!)
Pairing Three:
Sugar House Distillery Gold Rum (My FAVORITE!!), Straight Up
Bambara Duck with bleu cheese, poached pears, and juniper salt
Pairing Four:
Sugar House Distillery Malt Whisky: Rob Roy
Flat Iron Steak with Potatoes
And beautiful chocolates and brittle for dessert!
It is always amazing to me how food and beverage can bring out the best components in one another. Big thanks to Bambara and Sugar House Distillery for an amazing event! I can’t wait to see you all again.
You can get Sugar House Vodka in most Utah liquor stores, but make sure to take a tour of their distillery and get some GOLD RUM! That stuff is liquid love. It is truly a step above any rum you might currently be drinking. In fact, forget what you know about rum and just start all over with Sugar House Distillery’s Gold Rum, you won’t be disappointed.
This city, friends – it has the things I love! Get out and enjoy it!
